Lyngholm Earns Career Victory 100 in Shutout of Sentinels

MANKATO, Minn.--In his debut as the Bethany Lutheran head men's coach, Derick Lyngholm earned his 100th career victory in the 8-0 win over Nebraska Christian Friday evening. He had previously led the Vikings women's program to 99 wins.

The eight goals set a new single game school record, as it bested the previous mark of seven set against Crown on Sept. 27, 2013. The six team assists tied the record which was previously set against Northland on Nov. 1, 2013.

Freshman Max Busch (Odenthal, Germany) recorded a hat trick in his first collegiate game. He tallied the first goal of the season at 12:08 on a pass from senior Samuel Duran (Marshall, Minn.). Busch tied the single game school record with his three goals, previously set by Joe Nuah against Presentation on Sept. 19, 2009.

Freshman Luuk Oosterbosch (Veldhoven, The Netherlands) had a team-best three assists on the night, which also tied the single game school record, set by CK Pock against Martin Luther on Sept. 22, 2009.

BLC took the 2-0 lead at halftime, and added to its total in the second frame.

The Vikings outshot the Sentinels 32-6 in the contest.
