NORTHFIELD, Minn.-- The Bethany Lutheran volleyball team (3-6 overall) fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-19) to St. Olaf (8-1) Wednesday. The Oles received votes in this week's edition of the AVCA poll.
In the first set, St. Olaf led 15-9, but the Vikings fought back later in the frame to slice the margin to four at 22-19. A kill from freshman Kasidy Cacka (Brownton, Minn.) and an Ole hitting error whittled the margin to three at 24-21. St. Olaf then had a set-winning kill to claim the first stanza.
The Oles jumped to an 11-5 lead in the second set and 5-0 in the final matchup and never looked back.
Freshman Alexis Morsching (Morristown, Minn.) led the team with seven kills. Senior Veeva Lee (St. Paul) led all players with 18 digs.
BLC takes to the road this weekend to play in UW-Platteville's tournament. The Vikings will first face Wisconsin Lutheran at 6 p.m. Friday.
