MANKATO, Minn.—Bethany Lutheran men's soccer (5-2 overall) won its fourth-straight game in the 6-0 shutout over North Central (1-7) in a nonconference contest Saturday. This marks the longest winning streak for the program since it last won four-straight in 2013.
The Vikings took the early lead at 5:35 as freshman Joao Bastos (Piracicaba, Brazil) connected on a pass from classmate Marcel Campabadal (Vilassar de Mar, Catalonia, Spain).
Fifteen minutes later senior Jonny Sehloff (Mankato, Minn.) scored as he shot attempt hit the crossbar and fell in on his free kick at 20:42.
BLC tallied its final goal of the first half as Campabadal netted his first collegiate goal at 26:04.
The Vikings continued to lead 3-0 in the second half until senior Samuel Duran (Marshall, Minn.) recorded the next two consecutive scores at 65:12 and 68:29.
Freshman Eyob Tagesse (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia) recorded his first collegiate goal at 87:27.
Classmate Philip Ronza (Blaine, Minn.) made his first collegiate appearance in the net and earned the shutout.
As a team, the Vikings owned the advantages in shots (32-6) and corner kicks (6-2).
