MANKATO, Minn.— Freshman Stephanie Witbrod (Douglas, Wy.) broke two school records at the Chuck Petersen Open Saturday in her collegiate debut. She set a new school record in the shot put with her mark of 10.45m. This surpassed the previous record 10.40m set by Gabby Baker at the UMAC Championships in 2017. Later, she set a new mark in the triple jump with her distance of 10.63m. This shattered the mark of 10.50 set by Megan Rutt at the UMAC Championships in 2017.
Bethany Lutheran placed fifth in the 12-team field with 44 points.
