MORRIS, Minn.—The Bethany Lutheran volleyball team (1-2 overall, 1-2 UMAC) fell 3-0 to Minnesota Morris (1-1, 1-1) Saturday. The Cougars won 25-20, 25-12, and 28-26.
In the first set, Morris jumped to a 12-5 lead and never looked back. A similar story was true in the second frame as a big run put the Cougars ahead 12-4 and never relinquished the lead.
In the third set, the Vikings compiled a late rally to knot it at 24 all. BLC moved ahead 26-25, but three straight points from Morris sealed the sweep.
Sophomore Alexis Morsching (Morristown, Minn.) had a team-high 10 kills and finished with a double double with 13 digs. Sophomore Cheyenne Owens (Truman, Minn.) tallied 16 assists and added 12 digs.
The Vikings held the team advantage in blocks.
Bethany returns to the court Thursday when it travels to face Northwestern at 7 p.m.
