Box Score 2 MINNEAPOLIS -- The Bethany Lutheran softball team (12-12 overall, 5-1 UMAC) split with Northwestern (11-19, 6-4) Wednesday. The Vikings won the opener 3-0, but the Eagles claimed the finale 3-2. Northwestern scored three in the bottom of the seventh for the walkoff win.
In the opener, the Vikings plated all three runs in the fourth inning. Freshman Ana Christofferson (Mankato, Minn.) drove in classmate Haley Stockman (Mankato, Minn.) on her double to left for the 1-0 lead. Senior Alyssa Kosta (Redding, Calif.) doubled down the leftfield line to plate Christofferson, and pinch runner junior Hannah Dosch (Sioux Falls, SD) scored on a groundout.

Christofferson went 2-3. Kosta pitched 4.2 innings and struck out four to earn the win, and junior Kassidy Cunningham (Portage La Prairie, Manitoba) was credited with the saved.

In the finale, sophomore Liz Milam (Le Sueur, Minn.) hit her first collegiate home run in the third and classmate Emma Young (Mankato, Minn.) had an RBI single to plate Christofferson for the 2-0 lead.

UNW tallied three in the seventh which included a single to left to score the game-winning run.

BLC concludes its six-game road trip Saturday against Minnesota Morris at 3 p.m.
