SUPERIOR, Wis. -- The Bethany Lutheran volleyball opened competition at the Subway Stinger Classic hosted by UW-Superior Friday. The Vikings were swept by Concordia Moorhead and Macalester.
Against the Cobbers, junior Alexis Morsching (Morristown, Minn.) led all players with 12 kills. Freshman Megan Gallagher (Jackson, Minn.) tallied 21 assists and classmate Esther Peeters (Maasbree Limburg, The Netherlands) had a career-high 19 digs as the libero.
Against the Scots, freshman Morgan Goettlicher (Le Sueur, Minn.) had 10 kills, and Morsching followed with eight. Gallagher had 16 assists and added eight digs. Freshman Maddi Wendland (Arco, Minn.) had 11 digs.
BLC concludes the tournament tomorrow against Nebraska Wesleyan and Northland.
