Vikings Split Saturday, Morsching Named All-Tournament

SUPERIOR, Wis. -- The Bethany Lutheran volleyball split its matches Saturday at the Subway Stinger Classic. The Vikings fell 3-0 to Nebraska Wesleyan, but then swept Northland 3-0.

For her efforts on the weekend, junior Alexis Morsching (Morristown, Minn.) was named to the All-Tournament team.

Agaisnt the Prairie Wolves, Morsching had a team-best seven kills. Freshman Maddy Huschka (Monticello, Minn.) had a career-high 10 digs.

Against the LumberJills, Morsching had 15 kills and freshman Morgan Goettlicher (Le Sueur, Minn.) joined her in double digits with a career-best 10 kills.

Freshman Megan Gallagher (Jackson, Minn.) tallied a career-high 27 assists, and classmate Maddi Wendland (Arco, Minn.) had a new career mark of 33 digs.

Bethany owned the team advantage in every category.

BLC returns to action next Friday in its home opener against Buena Vista at 7 p.m.
