Box Score 2 MANKATO, Minn.—The Bethany Lutheran softball team opened the season 2-0 with victories in the first day of its own Bethany Kwik Trip Invitational.
The Vikings were able to overcome a six-run first inning from Luther to win 9-7. This was the second win in program history over the Norse.
In the nightcap, BLC defeated Macalester 13-2 in five innings. Highlights included: three stolen bases from sophomore Ana Christofferson (Mankato, Minn.), three runs and two stolen bases from junior Bailey Erlandson (Woodbury, Minn.), and a double, two runs and one stolen base from freshman Jade Krenik (St. Charles, Minn.). Freshman Kayla Senne (Northwood, Iowa) pitched a complete game and fanned eight.
Bethany returns to the field tomorrow against St. Catherine and St. Olaf.
