Women's Soccer Wins Big Over Rams

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran women's soccer team scored seven goals in the first 16 minutes of play on Saturday afternoon as they defeated North Central 9-0. With the wins the Vikings move to 8-3-1 overall and 7-1-0 in the UMAC while the Rams fall to 0-10-1 overall and 0-7-1 in the conference.

Riley Ping opened the scoring in this one in the second minute before Elena Luján Rubio opened the floodgates in the sixth minute. Ashley Casper would score goals in the seventh and eight minutes before Googie Mueller scored a pair of goals in the 10th and 14th.

With Bethany leading 6-0, Casper would get her hate trick in the 15th minute for the 7-0 lead and what would be the last goal of the first half.

In the second half, Mia Saulter would tally the first Bethany goal as she scored in the 67th minute for an 8-0 lead. Late in the game, regular goalkeeper Brooke Wolanin played a position in the field and would send in a perfect cross that fellow goalkeeper Arayah Baker would boot home for the 9-0 final score.

Ema Cortes Carvalho made eight saves in net in the final 58 minutes while allowing no goals.
