Women's Track and Field Kicks Off Season at Chuck Peterson Open

MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran women's track and field team opened their indoor season Saturday at MSU-Mankato. The Vikings women came in fourth place overall with 22 points, finishing ahead of two division II schools.

Bethany got a few key contributions from athletes, with Cassidy Gibson kickin off her career with a fifth place finish in high jump thanks to a mark of 1.55m. Stephanie Witbrod also had a solid finish in the weight throw, taking fifth place with a distance of 14.97m. Angela Zaccaria finished fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:47.89, while the Vikings racked up the points in the mile, with Chloe Kulhman, Jordan Merwin, Emmeline Metz, Hannah Rethemeyer, and Callie Montgomery finishing fifth through ninth, respectively. Anna Schwartz also had a big day for the Vikings, breaking the school record in the pole vault with a mark of 2.65m.
