Stewart Sets UMAC Record in 200m on Day Two of UMAC Championships

SUPERIOR, Wis. - Aaron Stewart won two events on day two of the UMAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday at UW-Superior as the Bethany Lutheran men's track and field team placed fifth. The Vikings finished with 49 points at the event while UW-Superior cleared the field by nearly 100 points with 245.5.

Stewart highlighted the day for the Vikings as he set a new UMAC meet record in the 200m dash with a time of 22.52, shattering the previous mark by a whole tenth of a second. Stewart also won the 60m dash, matched his previous program record of 7.01.

"Our athletes really outdid themselves this weekend and did as much as they could to help the team get where they did," said Head Coach Michael Dunn. "The whole year was about trying to hit our stride at the right time and our athletes were able to step up and do that. Really proud of both of our groups and now we will see what Aaron [Stewart], Cassidy [Gibson], and Stephanie [Witbrod] can do next week as they try to qualify for nationals."
