NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Bethany track & field teams returned to Northfield on Sunday for the rescheduled Carleton Relays. The Vikings enjoyed a sunny, cool spring day, which they launched into another successful meet.

In the field, Katelynn Tortorella collected a season best and a personal best in her two throwing events. Her throw of 28.57 meters in the discus throw was a new season best, and her hammer throw distance of 35.02 meters was a massive new personal best, improving by more than two meters. Nika Pittenger also had a good day in the field, with her throw of 35.35 meters in the javelin allowing her to take first place in the event.
In the long jump, two Vikings saw season bests, with Will Kaesermann placing in second place with a distance of 6.00 meters and Austin Skaden placing seventh with a distance of 5.72 meters. In the last field events of the day, two Vikings took first place in the women's and men's triple jump. Samantha Kedsch did so with a jump of 10.72 meters, while Benjamin Halvorson set a new season best mark of 12.98 meters.

On the track, several Vikings made their collegiate debuts in various events. August Weinstein did so in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:43.43. Next, Taryn Zellmann and Riley Ping made their debuts in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing with times of 19.02 and 20.10, respectively. In the 100-meter dash, both the women and men set personal bests and made their collegiate debuts. In the women's 100-meter dash, Kedsch set a new personal best with a time of 13.65 seconds. For the men, Kaesermann also set a new personal record with a time of 11.69 seconds. Brandon Kellett also made his collegiate debut in the event, with a time of 12.19 seconds. Jose Bolanos Talbot also tied his personal best in the 100-meter dash, with a time of 11.66 seconds, which he followed up with a season debut in the 400-meter dash, which he finished with a time of 57.88 seconds. Ben Matzke also made his season debut in the event, with a time of 54.84 seconds.

In the last running event for the Vikings, the 200-meter dash, Sarah Smith and Kellett made their debuts. With Smith finishing with a time of 29.24 seconds in the women's 200-meter dash, and Kellett finishing with a time of 25.11 seconds for the men. Also for the men, Skye Weyoiuanna set a new personal best with a time of 27.37 seconds.

The Vikings will continue their season next weekend on Saturday, April 25 as they return to St. Peter for the Gustavus Drake Alternative.
