Calvin 6 - 5 Bethany
In the first game of the contest, errors would do the Vikings in, as they outhit Calvin 9-4 in the matchup.

Errors started to doom the Vikings in the bottom half though, as they would misplay a sacrifice bunt and allow the runner from first to score after an errant throw. The bunter would reach third on the error and later come across to score following a sacrifice fly.
The game would stay at 3-1 until the top of the fifth, when the Vikings would hit their first home run of the season.
Sydney Jacobs and
Ana Christofferson would single, before Mork blasted a three-run shot to put Bethany ahead 4-3. The lead quickly vanished in the bottom half though, as three Bethany errors allowed three more runs to score as Calvin re-took the 6-4 lead.
The Vikings would once again answer in the sixth, as
Emily Nelson would draw a walk to start the inning eventually come around to score on a wild pitch. With the score 6-5, Bethany would have one more shot at it in the seventh, but a Christofferson single to lead off the inning wouldn't be enough as Calvin held on.

After a few scoreless frames, the Vikings would explode offensively in the third, tallying three hits and drawing three walks to plate four runs. Nelson would knock a two RBI single with one out to score the first two runs before a
