NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team traveled to St. Olaf on Friday afternoon to take on the Oles and fell by a score of 3-0. With the loss the Vikings fall to 1-4 on the year while St. Olaf moves to 3-3.
The home team would capitalize on one of their first chances of the contest as they would play a throw-in into the box just over five minutes in, with the second of two headed balls finding the left side of the net for the 1-0 edge. Things would look like they were going to stay that way headed into the half but the Oles would convert on a corner kick with just over a minute remaining to make it 2-0.
St. Olaf would then put one more home in the 60th minute as an Ole would cut through the left side of the defense and find the top of the net to bring the score to its 3-0 final.Â
Nick Lundberg made six saves in the loss as the Vikings were outshot 17-5.Â
Bethany will be back in action with its final non-conference match of the season on Sunday at 1 p.m.Â
