MANKATO, Minn. - Nine different players scored goals for Bethany men's soccer in a dominant 11-0 win over Martin Luther on Wednesday night. Twenty-six Vikings saw time on the pitch as they improved to 7-5-2 overall and 7-1-0 in the UMAC.Â
The highest scoring game for Bethany since 2021 started with an own goal in the seventh minute, which proved to be the game-winner. Oscar Peraza and Liam Gosch netted their first goals of the season before the 17-minute mark, while Miguel Goncalves and Gijs van Eldik each tallied their third goals of the season before the 30-minute mark. Rodrigo Cardoso posted his fourth goal of the season in the 35th minute and Frederico de Modesto Nobre scored his first goal in the 40th minute. The Vikings held a 7-0 lead at half with an 18-1 advantage in shots.Â
Goncalo Nolasco netted his fifth of the season in the 71st minute, while Cardoso and van Eldik each scored their second goals of the game in the 76th and 81st minutes, respectively. Vincente Oliveira capped the scoring onslaught with his third goal of the season in the 88th minute.Â
Bethany outshot Martin Luther 33-2 overall and 21-2 on goal. Brady Price made two saves in 73 minutes while Jens Quist finished out the final 17 minutes.Â
The Vikings hit the road Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Northwestern.Â
