ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bethany men's soccer completed the series sweep over Northwestern-St. Paul on Saturday with a 4-0 shutout. The Vikings improve to 8-5-2 overall and 8-1-0 in the UMAC.Â
Miguel Goncalves was the player of the game, scoring a pair of goals and assisting on another for a five-point day. Goncalves set up the first goal of the game in the 36th minute, assisting on Goncalo Nolasco's sixth goal of the season, which proved to be the game-winner. The Vikings had a 7-3 advantage in shot after 45 minutes.Â
Goncalves then scored in the 50th and 68th minutes for his fourth and fifth goals of the season. Diogo Cavalcanti assisted on Goncalves' first goal and the second was unassisted. Gijs van Eldik put the nail in the coffin in the 86th minute with his fourth goal of the year.Â
The Vikings out-shot the Eagles 13-7 overall and 7-3 on goal. Brady Price earned the clean sheet after making three saves.Â
Bethany returns home Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. matchup against UM-Morris.Â
