MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany women's soccer earned a 2-0 win over Martin Luther on Wednesday, completing the series sweep over the Knights. The Vikings improve to 6-5-2 overall and 6-1-1 in the UMAC with their third straight win and sixth in the past seven games.
Mia Johnson scored the game-winning goal in the 37th minute, sprinting up the right side and rifling a shot for her fourth goal of the season. The Vikings maintained a 1-0 lead at half with an 11-4 advantage in shots.
Elena Luján Rubio increased her UMAC lead in goals to 12 this season, finding the back of the net in the 63rd minute. Bethany finished with an 18-7 lead in overall shots and 10-2 on goal. Arayah Baker earned her fourth shutout of the season after making a pair of stops.
Bethany is back on the road Saturday at Northwestern with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
