ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bethany volleyball suffered a shutout loss at Northwestern-St. Paul on Saturday afternoon, dropping to 12-8 overall and 4-2 in the UMAC.Â
The Vikings were limited to a .030 rate on the attack in the match, led by Lilly Mehrkens with eight kills. The Eagles claimed the first three points of the opening set and never looked back in a 25-19 victory.Â
Northwestern had another early lead in the second and never trailed in a 25-20 decision. And just as the first two sets, the Eagles jumped out to a quick advantage in the third and maintained the lead throughout in a 25-17 clinching win.Â
Abby Distad posted 22 assists and nine digs for the Vikings. The reached double figure digs, including Kylie Smidt (18), Avery Carlson (11), and Mel Raasch (10).Â
Bethany returns home Tuesday night against Martin Luther.Â
