MANKATO, Minn. - Juan Campos' penalty kick goal in the 40th minute proved to be the only score in Saturday's 1-0 win for Bethany men's soccer over North Central. The Vikings improve to 10-5-2 overall and 10-1-0 in the UMAC, completing the series sweep over the Rams.Â
In a physical battle throughout, the Vikings took advantage of a Rams' penalty in the box as Campos connected for his first career goal. Scoring opportunities were close in the first half with the Vikings out-shooting the Rams 7-5.Â
Bethany picked up the pressure in the second half, out-shooting North Central 9-0 but could not get the extra insurance goal. It didn't matter, though, as Brady Price stopped the only shot on goal he faced, earning his fourth shutout of the season.Â
The Vikings finished the game with a 16-5 advantage in overall shots and 7-1 on goal. The game featured five yellow cards.Â
Bethany hosts Hamline on Tuesday night for its final non-conference game of the season.Â
