MANKATO, Minn. - On a hot and windy day Saturday afternoon, Bethany women's soccer suffered a 4-0 loss to UW-Superior in a rematch of last year's UMAC playoff championship. The Vikings drop to 3-5-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the UMAC, snapping their three-match win streak.
UW-Superior netted the game-winner just three minutes into the game and controlled the pace of play for most of the contest. The Yellowjackets took a 2-0 lead into halftime with a 7-3 advantage in shots. The visitors added goals in the 66th and 87th minutes to seal the victory while out-shooting the Vikings 13-9 overall. Shots on goal were even at 5-5.
Next up for the Vikings is a conference match at Martin Luther on Tuesday.
