SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Bethany Lutheran women's track and field team Saturday competed in day two of the UMAC Championships and finished in fifth place with a team score of 70. Crown won the event with a 138 while Northwestern was right behind them with a 136.
Stephanie Witbrod made her case for another NCAA Championship appearance as she posted a season best in the shot put with a toss of 13.52m, nearly half a meter further than her previous best. She currently sits 17th nationally which would qualify her for nationals. Taryn Zellmann also had a strong day for the Vikings, as she finshed seventh in the 200m and then was apart of the Vikings 4x400 team that took second place.
