MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The Bethany women's soccer team earned a decisive 7-0 win at North Central on Saturday. The Vikings improve to 3-4-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the UMAC with their third straight victory.
Riley Ping got the scoring started in the 15th minute, assisted by Kia LeKander. Elena Luján Rubio connected with Reese Moorad in the 25th minute and seven minutes later, Inez van der Wegen gave the Vikings a 3-0 lead with the help of Ping. Bethany led 3-0 at half with a 21-1 advantage in total shots and 12-0 on goal.
Mia Johnson scored in the 59th minute, followed by Luján Rubio taking control the rest of the game. Luján Rubio recorded a hat trick with unassisted goals in the 67th, 69th, and 82nd minutes, increasing her season total to a team-leading five goals.
Sara Lara Tabuena got the start in goal and stopped the one shot she faced. The Vikings outshot the Rams 41-2 overall and 22-1 on goal.
Bethany is off until next Saturday when it hosts UW-Superior at 4:30 p.m.
