ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) awarded its academic all-conference awards Wednesday to fall sport student-athletes for excellence in the classroom, and 79 Bethany athletes were recognized.
Individuals who earn a 3.5 or better grade point average (GPA) or better during their respective semesters of competition are recognized with the prestigious individual honor, while the team with the top GPA in each sport is also recognized. Student-athletes were acknowledged for academic achievement in the sports of men's and women's cross country, football, men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer and volleyball.
Bethany ranked third in the conference in total honorees and first in both men's soccer (26) and volleyball (19). The Vikings also earned the team GPA award in men's cross country (3.91) and women's golf (3.93).
