SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Bethany men's and women's tennis earned decisive wins over Mount Marty University on Friday afternoon. The Viking men won 5-2, improving to 3-2 overall, and the women won 6-1, improving to 2-2.Â
The women earned the first point with a sweep in doubles. Campbell Amundson and Anea Simunovic won 6-4 at No. 1 and Sailor Mohlenbrock and Madilyn Omar won 6-2 at No. 2. Brianna Lienig and Emily Yehle won by default.Â
Mohlenbrock, Amundson, and Omar then won at Nos. 2-4 singles, while Yehle and Lienig won by default again at Nos. 5 and 6.Â
The men also earned the first point with a sweep in doubles. Joel Simon and Daniel Poulakidas won 6-1 at No. 1, and Simao Caetano and Thales Oliveira won 6-3 at No. 2. Ezra Greenman and Souhail Boukhari won by default at No. 3.Â
The Vikings then won Nos. 3-6 singles. Greenman won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 and Boukhari won 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 at No. 4. Caetano and Oliveira won by default at Nos. 5-6.Â
Bethany is back in action Saturday against Buena VIsta in Sioux Falls.Â
