CLERMONT, Fla. - Bethany softball got back in the win column Sunday with an 8-4 win over Adrian, improving to 8-2 overall.
Addie Ahern got thing started in the first inning with a solo home run to left. In the second frame, Orla Keys and Bryn Weidner each hit RBI doubles for a 4-0 lead. The Vikings tacked on four more runs in the third as Aliya Edbom-Kehler hit a two-run double, Avery Carlson hit an RBI triple, and Emily Meyer hit an RBI single.
Adrian started its comeback effort in the fifth with a run, another two in the sixth, and one more in the seventh, but that was all it could muster.
Meyer earned the win in the circle, allowing one runs on two hits and eight strikeouts in 4.2 innings. Joie Koll finished out the final 2.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits and two strikeouts.
Nine different Vikings each had one hit in the game.
Bethany continues play in Florida Monday with games against Elizabethtown College and Simmons University.
