ST. PAUL, Minn. - Bethany men's tennis beat Northwestern-St. Paul 6-1 on Monday, while the Viking women lost by the same score. The Bethany men improve to 11-6 overall and 3-0 in the UMAC, while the women end their season 4-17 overall and 1-4 in the conference.Â
In women's action, Northwestern swept doubles play before winning five of six singles. Sailor Mohlenbrock earned the lone point for the Vikings at No. 1 singles, winning 6-3, 6-4.Â
In men's play, the Vikings claimed the doubles point, winning tow out of three. Declan Jones and Mark Barton won a breaker 7-6 (7-5) at No. 1 while Simao Caetano and Thales Oliveira won 6-1 at No. 2.Â
The Vikings went on to win five of six singles - all in straight sets.Â
The men continue their season Tuesday at Martin Luther.Â
