MANKATO, Minn. - Kiara Walker scored twice in the UMAC home opener as Bethany women's soccer (0-1-1 overall) tied UM-Morris at Scheels Field.
The Cougars opened the scoring in the ninth minute but Walker evened the score just a minute later on an assist from Roxy Rehberg at midfield. Morris then regained the lead in the 33rd minute and carried a 2-1 advantage into the break. Shots were even 7-7 after 45 minutes.Â
Walker tallied her second goal in the 70th minute, unassisted, and the score remained tied the rest of the way despite some scoring chances on both ends.Â
The Cougars held a slight advantage in shots overall, 14-12, and 6-4 on goal. Arayah Baker made five saves in net for the Vikings.Â
Bethany continues conference play Saturday afternoon at Northwestern-St. Paul.Â
