St. Paul, Minn. - The Bethany men's soccer team traveled to St. Paul to take on Northwestern on Friday, and unfortunately lost to the Eagles 2-0.
Fans packed the stands to enjoy the game and the sunshine. The boys played tough, and received a total of 12 fouls during the game. Evans Tackie-Yarboi (West Jordan, Utah/Copper Hills) led the Vikings in shots with four, but Bethany Lutheran was outshot by the Northwestern 18-10.
Senior goalie Cam Koopman (Phelps, Wis./Phelps) made six saves for Bethany. The first Northwestern goal came from a penalty kick in the 35th minute. The boys were able to hold them until the 77th minute when the second goal was scored for Northwestern.
The Vikings who now stand at 5-6 overall and 2-3 in the UMAC, will travel again on Saturday to play Crown.
