Mankato, Minn. – The Bethany men’s and women’s soccer teams will be traveling to compete in the first round of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Post-Season Tournament.
The men’s team ended in fourth place in the UMAC with an 8-5-1 record. The squad will travel to take on first seed St. Scholastica at 11:30 a.m. The Vikings have had a tough time against the UMAC undefeated Saints in the regular season. In the first meeting with St. Scholastica on September 28th the Vikings fell 0-7 on the road. When the Saints visited Bethany on October 27th Bethany fell 0-5.

The Bethany women’s team finished the UMAC season with a 10-4 record. It was the best conference record by the women’s soccer team in school history. The Vikings finished in third place in the UMAC standings and will take on second seed Minnesota-Morris at 2 p.m. Bethany split with MN-Morris in their two contests this year. The Vikings defeated the Cougars at home 2-1 on September 29th. When Bethany travelled to MN-Morris on October 13th they fell 0-3.

The winners of today’s games will move on to the UMAC Championship on Saturday at the highest remaining seed in the tournament. The UMAC Tournament Champions are guaranteed a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
