Mankato, Minn. - The men's and women's tennis teams took on St. Scholastica in the conference opener at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, Minn. Both teams fell 0-9 to the Saints.

For the men, Ryan Koch (Savage, Minn./Bloomington Jefferson) had the best showing for the Vikings in the singles competition falling 1-6, 1-6. David Blumer (Lakewood, Colo./Green Mountain) and Logan Hoppe (St. James, Minn./St. James) each fell 0-6, 1-6 to their opponents. In the other singles competitions and all of the doubles matches the Vikings were scoreless.
 
On the women’s side, the Vikings number one Rebecca Kopeacek (Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo) fell 1-6, 2-6. She had the best showing while Alyssa Rau (Sarona, Wis./Rice Lake) also managed a couple points falling 2-6, 0-6. Marta Faugstad (Mankato, Minn./Mankato East) fell 1-6, 0-6. The rest of the singles competitions and all of the double competitions were scoreless
 
Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams will play North Central on March 30 at 1:30 p.m. in the Swanson Tennis Center.
