Box Score ST. PETER, MN – The Bethany Lutheran men's tennis team hosted UW-Superior on Saturday afternoon in conference play. The rain prevented the Vikings from hosting their first matches of the season outdoors at BLC, so they took on the Yellowjackets indoors at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, MN. UW-Superior handed the Vikings an 8-1 loss which brought their record to 2-2 in conference play.
 
Carter Dahl and Nico Martinez Biali battled the Yellowjackets at the #2 doubles spot. The score went back and forth, but the Yellowjackets came out on top with an 8-5 win. Laine Larson and Dalton Werckman lost 8-2 at #1 doubles and Noah Gernander and David Lee lost 8-0 at #3.
 
Laine Larson recovered quickly and fought hard in his #1 singles match. Larson won the first set in a tiebreaker 7-6 (8-6). He then lost the second and third sets 6-2, 10-6 respectively. Dalton Werckman also took the first set in his #2 singles match by a score of 7-5. His opponent would respond, however, by winning the second and third set by scores of 7-6 (9-7) and 10-3 respectively.
 
Up next: The Vikings will play their Alumni match on Sunday, April 7 at 12 PM at the Swanson Tennis Center in St. Peter, MN.
