Box Score SUPERIOR, Wis. - The Bethany Lutheran men's soccer team took on UW-Superior in the UMAC Championship on Saturday afternoon in Superior and fell to the Yellowjackets by a score of 1-0. With the loss the Vikings finish the season 13-7-2 overall while the Yellowjackets will advance to the NCAA Tournament with a record of 17-3-2.
It was a tough day offensively for both teams as neither could really get a lot going offensively. Each team would gain a few shots on net in the first half and it wasn't until a Superior corner in the 39th minute that proved to be the difference. The Jackets would take the corner from the left side of their net, sending it to the far right post and Karsten Kletti was there with his right foot for what proved to be the game-winner.
After the half, the Vikings would put three more shots on net but none would connect and they weren't able to create many great goal scoring opportunities as the Yellowjackets survived to head to the NCAA Tournament for the seventh consecutive year.
Nick Lundberg got the start in net and made eight saves in the loss.
