BECKER, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran men's golf team got out to a slow start on Day One of the UMAC Championships but rebounded late in the round and trail just four shots behind the leader after day one. The Vikings, who currently sit at 327 (+39), are in fourth place with the leaders North Central just four shots in front of them at 323 (+35).
Jakob 'Jake' Swanson had a good first day for the Vikings, notching birdies on two of his final four holes to shoot a 78 (+6) and is currently tied for third place.
Keaton Ginter also closed out his round strong, parring his last five holes to shoot 79 (+7) and is in a tie for sixth.
Arturo Fraile Beltran,
Eli Wetzel, and
Teien Murphy are all in a tie for 25
th after day one as they each shot 85 (+13).
Bethany will continue action at the Championships tomorrow morning. Â
