Luján Rubio, Nichols Headline 2025 UMAC Women's Soccer Awards

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) released its 2025 women's soccer awards Tuesday and Bethany's Elena Luján Rubio (Sr., Alborache, Spain) and Ryan Nichols highlighted the honors as Offensive Player of the Year and Co-Coach of the Year. 

Reese Moorad (Jr., Columbus, Wis.) and Arayah Baker (Jr., Andover) joined Luján Rubio as First-Team All-Conference members, while Mia Johnson (Sr., Gibbon), Riley Ping (Jr., Brooklyn Park), and Katelynn Bills (Sr., Brandon, S.D.) were named Second Team. Roxy Rehberg (Jr., Temecula, Calif.) earned honorable mention. 

Nichols shares Coach of the Year honors with Danny Brandt of Northwestern. In his second year at Bethany, Nichols led the Vikings to a second place finish in the UMAC at 9-2-1 and finished with a 9-8-2 overall record. In each of his season at Bethany, Nichols has guided the Vikings to a second place finish and nine-win season. Nichols is the first coach of the year in program history. 

In 12 conference games this season, Luján Rubio led the UMAC with 19 goals, which was seven more than the next player. She also led the league with 46 points (15 more than the next player) was second with eight assists. Luján Rubio finished her senior campaign with 20 goals and eight assists for 48 points. Entering postseason play, Luján Rubio ranked fifth in NCAA Division III in total goals, which is second most for a single season in program history, while ranking third in the country in total points. Luján Rubio tied the program record with 57 career goals and is the record holder with 142 career points. Luján Rubio has earned All-UMAC honors all four seasons and is the first player of the year in program history. 

Moorad was second on the team in conference scoring with seven goals and four assists for 18 points in 12 contests. Baker started 10 conference games in net for the Vikings, registering a 1.22 goals against average and .825 save percentage with a 7-2-1 record. including three shutouts. 

Playing in all 12 conference games, Johnson tallied five goals and three assists for 13 points. Ping missed just one UMAC game and totaled 15 points on six goals and three assists. Bills, who was also named All-Sportsmanship, played in all 12 league games and helped limit opponents to 1.08 goals per game. Rehberg played in 10 UMAC games with four goals and four assists for 12 points.
