MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany men's soccer won its third straight conference game with a 3-0 decision over Crown on Tuesday at Scheels Field. The Vikings improve to 3-4-2 overall and 3-0-0 in the UMAC.Â
The Vikings scored the game-winning in the 20th minute as Liam Gosch sprung Mike van der Horst free up the right sideline. van der Horst then centered to the back post that deflected off the head of Ted Tendaie to the head of Diogo Cavalcanti, who buried his second goal of the season. The Vikings maintained a 1-0 lead at half with a 6-3 advantage in shots.Â
Guilherme Gancho tallied his fourth goal of the season in the 84th minute on a high press, chipping the shot over the keeper. And William Shade netted his first goal of the season with just two minutes remaining. Martim Vilarinho was credited with the assist on a cross from the right side.Â
Bethany dominant possession throughout the game, especially in the second half with a 14-1 advantage in shots. The Vikings outshot the Polars 7-1 on goal as Brady Price stopped the one shot he faced.Â
The Vikings travel to North Central on Saturday afternoon.Â
