Aberdeen, S.D. - The women's soccer team came away with a win against Presentation in Abredeen today. The Vikings won 3-0 completing their fourth straight shut out.
Kelli Kitzman (Osseo, Minn./Osseo) scored at the 17:48 mark to give the Vikings the lead. Her goal was assisted by Maggie LaPlante (White Bear Lake, Minn./White Bear Lake) and Anna Potz (White Bear Lake, Minn./Totino Grace). Then right before the half, Kindra Fairburn (Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) found the back of the net off a corner kick by Joelle Pipal (Mankato, Minn./Mankato West). After the half, Bethany Lutheran kept up the momentum and scored in the 47th minute. It was once again LaPlante dishing one to Kitzman for the goal.
The Vikings outshot the Saints 21 to five, and had a four to three corner kick advantage. Jada Holden (Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn) was in between the pipes for BLC recording five saves.
The squad now stands at 6-1-2 overall, and 2-0-2 in the UMAC. The next game for the Vikings is on October 8th in Minneapolis against Northwestern.
