Box Score vs. Dakota Wesleyan
Morris, Minn. - The Volleyball team ended the season on a disappointing note Saturday with losses to Minnesota-Morris, and non-conference opponent Dakota Wesleyan.
The squad dropped the match to MN-Morris in three sets (25-16, 25-13, 25-18), struggling to kill the ball without error. The Vikings had 22 attack errors compared to the Cougars 10. Emily Schrupp (Norwood, Minn./Mayer Lutheran) led the team offensively with eight kills. Vanessa Harkins (LeCenter, Minn./LeCenter) had a solid game contributing seven kills, and nine digs. Nicole Jones (Mankato, Minn./Mankato East) set up 27 of the 30 total kills for the team.
It was the last conference game of the year putting Bethany Lutheran 6-8 in the UMAC. The Vikings finished one spot shy of advancing to the UMAC post-season.
In the second match of the day BLC fell to Dakota Wesleyan in five sets (25-5, 23-25, 24-26, 25-19, 15-7). The Vikings came out flat only recording three kills in the first game. They bounced back to compete in the following sets, but were not able to overcome Wesleyan and their 15 services aces. Schrupp led the Vikings once again with 11 kills. Laura Holt (Mapleton, Minn./Maple River) and Amanda Edmison (Mayer, Minn./Watertown-Mayer) each recorded nine kills. Edmison was also the dig leader with 19. Jones had 35 assists.
The Vikings finish the season 11-17 overall and 6-8 in the conference.
