Box Score Wildcats Defeat Women's Soccer

MANKATO, Minn. – On Monday night the women's soccer team welcomed the Wildcats from St. Catherine to Bethany for a non-conference game. The Vikings entered play with a 6-4-2, 4-1-1 record while the Wildcats who are a member of the MIAC came into the game with a 5-4-1 record. The final score ended in St. Catherine's favor, 4-0.

Taylor Friehl (Albert Lea, Minn.) attempted two shots with one of them on goal which made up the scoring chances for the Vikings on the night. Â The starting goalkeeper for the Vikings,
Averi Cash (Ottumwa, Iowa) had seven saves on the night for her team. St. Catherine attempted 25 total shots.

Elly Leyva, a forward for the Wildcats, scored two goals for her team. The Wildcats scored one of their four goals off a corner by late in the first half.

On Wednesday the soccer team will have another non-conference game starting at 5 p.m. The Vikings will be facing another MIAC team in Gustavus Adolphus.
