Wildcats Defeat Women's Soccer

 
MANKATO, Minn. – On Monday night the women's soccer team welcomed the Wildcats from St. Catherine to Bethany for a non-conference game. The Vikings entered play with a 6-4-2, 4-1-1 record while the Wildcats who are a member of the MIAC came into the game with a 5-4-1 record. The final score ended in St. Catherine's favor, 4-0.
 
Bethany's Taylor Friehl (Albert Lea, Minn.) attempted two shots with one of them on goal which made up the scoring chances for the Vikings on the night.  The starting goalkeeper for the Vikings, Averi Cash (Ottumwa, Iowa) had seven saves on the night for her team. St. Catherine attempted 25 total shots.
 
Elly Leyva, a forward for the Wildcats, scored two goals for her team. The Wildcats scored one of their four goals off a corner by late in the first half.
 
On Wednesday the soccer team will have another non-conference game starting at 5 p.m. The Vikings will be facing another MIAC team in Gustavus Adolphus.
