MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany Vikings volleyball team welcomed Martin Luther to the Sport and Fitness Center located on Bethany's campus Tuesday night for their first home game of the season. Bethany and Martin Luther entered play searching for their team's first win of the season. The Knights defeated Bethany in three games, 23-25, 17-25, 23-25.
As the fall semester is well underway, the Bethany student body flocked into the gymnasium for the first battle of the season between these two friendly rivals. In a game filled with momentum swings, Bethany Lutheran looked to keep pace with the Knights of Martin Luther in game one, but fell by a score of 23-25. Game two didn't feature a lot of scoring for the Vikings, but in the third game of the set the Vikings held their own, but ultimately fell short with a final score of 23-25 again.
Bethany Lutheran College continues their home stand this Friday verse Northland starting at 5 p.m. The Vikings have a quick turnaround as Crown visits Mankato for an 11 a.m. start here at Bethany on Saturday.
