Volleyball Wins Eighth Straight, 3-0 Over Crown

MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany volleyball made quick work of Crown on Saturday afternoon, cruising to a 3-0 win. The Vikings improve to 11-5 overall and 3-0 in the UMAC, while extending their winning streak to eight, which is the longest streak since 2004.

Bethany started fast in the opening set, jumping out to a 7-1 lead and rolled to a 25-6 decision while hitting .458 on the attack.

The second set was the closest of the match. Bethany jumped out to a 6-1 lead but the Polars climbed back and made it a one-point game three times late in the set. The Vikings were able to secure the final four points of the set for a 25-20 decision.

It was all Bethany from the get-go in the third with an 8-0 lead. The Vikings went on to win 25-14.

Lilly Mehrkens once again led the attack with 13 kills. Riley Sammon added nine kills with an absurd .818 attack rate, which included zero errors on 11 attempts. Abby Distad quarterbacked the offense with 30 assists and added eight digs. Avery Carlson also had eight digs on the back line.

Bethany hits the road Friday night to face UW-Superior.
