St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Vikings men's soccer team beat Crown in an away game on Saturday with a score of 3-2. Crown was lucky to keep the score so close with the Vikings outshooting the Storm 25-8.
Crown scored the first goal of the game in the 39th minute, however freshman Joe Lundsten (Watertown, Minn./Watertown) answered right back with a goal for Bethany in the 41st minute, ending the half in a tie. This was Lundsten’s first goal of the season.
The Vikings came out ready to play in the second half, and Joe Nuah (St. Paul, Minn./Arlington) put one in for Bethany right away assisted by Evans Tackie-Yarboi (West Jordan, Utah/Cooper Hills).
Later in the half, Crown was able to get one passed Vikings senior keeper Cam Koopman (Phelps, Wis./Phelps) in a penalty shot. With a little less than five minutes to play Nuah put in his second goal of the game, this time unassisted to solidify the victory for the Vikings.
