Men's soccer defeats Presentation in overtime

Box Score

Mankato, Minn. - The Bethany men's soccer team beat Presentation on Friday 1-0 in overtime.

The Vikings finally had nice day to play that attracted a good-sized crowd. Bethany Lutheran played strong and outshot the Presentation Saints by an impressive 31-10. However, the squad just couldn't seem to find the back of the net.

Vikings goalies Cam Koopman (Phelps, Wis./Phelps), and Ryan Bolte (Colorado Springs, Colo./Fountain Fort Carson) were forced to make three saves each for the Vikings.

Joe Nuah (St. Paul, Minn./Arlington) led the team with eight shots, and it was Nuah that scored the winning goal in the 4th minute of overtime, assisted by freshman Juan Garcia (Arlington, Minn./Sibley).

The Bethany men's soccer team will play Minnesota-Morris at noon on Saturday at home. The game will determine who will have home field advantage in the first game of the UMAC play-off on Tuesday.
