Men's Soccer defeats MLC 3-0

Box Score

New Ulm, Minn. - The Bethany men got a much needed conference win away against the MLC Knights Saturday afternoon. The Vikings played good defense and were an offensive force booting 20 shots in the game.

Ryan Bolte (Colorado Springs, Colo./ Fountain Fort Carson) was between the pipes for the Vikes, making seven saves on 16 shots and recording the shutout, his second of the season. The defense did a good job of clearing the ball all day, and the offense did their job keeping the ball on the Knights’ half for most of the game.

CK Pock (Faribault, Minn. / Faribault) scored twice in the win, his first goal in the waning moments of the first half was unassisted, but Joe Nuah (St. Paul, Minn. / Arlington) assisted his second goal with a beautiful cross that Pock headed in past the MLC keeper.

Nuah added the third goal with 18 minutes left on an unassisted strike from inside the box. This goal capped off a BLC offensive surge that could have resulted in even more goals.

Bethany will look to keep up the winning play in a conference match against Crown in St. Bonifacius this Thursday.

The Viking men are now 4-7 this season as well as 2-4 in conference play.
