Morris, Minn. – It was a battle on the soccer field as the Viking men traveled to take on the Cougars in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game (UMAC).
 
When Bethany hosted Morris the Cougars got the better of the Vikings wining 1-0. In a virtual flip-flop Bethany defeated the Cougars on the road 1-0.
 
Bethany got on the board thanks to the game winner by Ryan Behmer (Maple Grove, Minn./West Lutheran). He took advantage of a lose ball that was deflected off a Cougar defender and beat the keeper on the left side. It was Behmer’s third goal of the season.
 
Morris outshot the Vikings 22 to seven, but the Bethany defenders and keeper worked to preserve the shutout. Noah Heidorn (Fergus Falls, Minn./Fergus Falls) was in between the pipes for the entire 90 minutes. He recorded eight saves.
 
The Vikings are 6-8-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the conference. Next, Bethany will host rival Martin Luther on October 16th at 7 p.m.
