Volleyball falls to St. Scholastica

Mankato, Minn. – The Bethany volleyball team improved its overall play despite falling to St. Scholastica 3-0. The Vikings fell 25-20, 25-19 and 25-23.
 
The Saints had 43 kills and 20 errors while the Vikings had 34 kills and 19 errors. Bethany had a .142 attack percentage. St. Scholastica had a .187 attack percentage. The score was tied 19 different times throughout the match. There were also 10 lead changes.
 
Shelby Wiederheoft (Truman, Minn./Truman) led the Vikings offensively once again. She had a total of 14 kills with a .320 attack percentage. Wiederhoeft also had four digs and one block assist. Caitlin Decker (Ramsey, Minn. / Anoka) had a solid game with eight kills and a .313 attack percentage.
 
Emily Franzen (Lewiston, Minn. / Lewiston-Altura) led the team in digs and assists. She dug up 14 balls while assisting 15 kills. Jessi Jurries (Trimont, Minn. / Martin County West) had 10 digs. Allie VanHee (Madelia, Minn. / Madelia) had 14 set assists. VanHee also contributed four kills and six digs.
 
Next, Bethany will host North Central on October 12th at 7 p.m. The Vikings are 3-18 overall and 2-5 in the conference.
