Oles top Vikings

Box Score NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Bethany men's soccer team hung in for a half against MIAC power St. Olaf, but the Oles proved too much as they pulled away to a 6-1 win over the Vikings in a non-conference matchup Tuesday.

The Vikings knew it was going to be a tough road test against a St. Olaf team with only one loss coming into the contest. Four minutes in, it became even more apparent as Kevin Skrip scored his eighth goal of the season to give St. Olaf a 1-0 lead. Less than eight minutes later Ben Moldstad tied the game with an unassisted goal, his fourth goal on the year. It remained tied until the 42nd minute when Phumelela Sukati scored from out front to make it 2-1 at the half.

The Oles broke it open in the second half. Aaron Stets scored in the 51st minute and St. Olaf would add three more to make the final 6-1.

Ryan Bolte made 11 saves in net for Bethany who falls to 4-3 overall. The Vikings return home for their next game Friday against St. Scholastica at 2 p.m.
