Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - After a tight first set, Northwestern proved why they are undefeated in UMAC play by defeating the Vikings in straight sets.

Bethany, playing at home for the first time this season, came out with intensity against a Northwestern picked to win the conference before the season. The Vikings opened up an early 6-2 advantage. Slowly the Eagles crept back before it went back and forth towards the end. The set went a little extra, but Northwestern prevailed 26-24.

From then on, it was all Northwestern easily taking the final two sets 25-14 and 25-13.

Saturday, in commemoration of the Bethany's tenth year in the UMAC, the program is honoring the 2004 and 2005 Vikings' volleyball teams who won both the conference regular season and tournament championships in their opening years in the conference. The match against North Central is set to start at 1 p.m.
