Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany came into Friday night's UMAC contest needing a win to stay in the hunt for a postseason playoff and a win is what they got as they knocked off Northland 4-1.
Bethany got on the scoreboard right away in the game's third minute.
Lee Leal picked up his first goal of the season off an assist from
Adam Kluball for an early 1-0 advantage.
In the 29th minute, Northland committed a foul in the box which meant a penalty kick opportunity for the Vikings.
Jacob Friendt took the kick and drove it home in the lower right corner of the net for a 2-0 lead.
Jorge Perez added another Bethany goal just before the half off a nice feed from
Brady Johnson to give the Vikings a 3-0 lead going into the break.
Perez added another goal in the second half off his own rebound.
Bethany (4-8-2, 4-3-2 in UMAC) hosts St. Scholastica Saturday at 3 p.m.
