Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - In a game that was vastly different than their previous meeting this season, the Bethany men's soccer team still fell to St. Scholastica Saturday 1-0.
When the two teams met in Duluth three weeks earlier, St. Scholastica scored 13 goals in a shutout win of the Vikings. Bethany changed their game plan that focused more on keeping more men back on defense and the result was 12 fewer goals for the Saints.
CSS managed to break through though in the 23rd minute when Shawayne Folkes struck home a sliding shot off a feed from Tom Corcoran.
Bethany was still outshot 18-2 in the match with
Matt Bitter making six saves.
Bethany (4-9-2, 4-4-2, in UMAC) has their home finale Tuesday night at 7 p.m. against St. Olaf.
